I was thinking about making a wooden smoothing plane - and I still am. I purchased the blade from Hock Tools, but I have put the project on hold. As you can see from my gallery picture additions, I have been putting some time into resealing my deck and some landscaping projects. I think my next woodworking project will be a sword case for a friend of mine.
