I decided to spline the miters on the Mahogany Saber Case for extra strength. In order to cut the slots for the splines, I needed to make a jig. You cannot tell from the picture, but this jig leaves a bit to be desired. The cradle could have been closer to square, there was supposed to be an attached saddle to ride over the table saw fence, and the BORG purchased pine was lousy. Despite all of that, the jig worked well, but will be upgraded in the future...
Though I haven't completed the Mahogany Saber Case yet, I have been asked to make a quick project with a short deadline. It is a stand for a military shell. I will post build pictures with more explanation in the next few days!
