  | I assembled the ship-lapped back into two, glued together sections and then joined those two sections with glue. Due to the large amount of reversing grain, I spent some time planning down some areas of tear-out with a finely set #4 smoother and card scrapers. |
 | After the glue on the back panel had dried, I slid the panel into the carcass. The dovetails for the top (which was actually the bottom piece since the carcass was upside down) were glued and tapped into place. A handful of clamps were added to keep things tight while the glue dried. Next step - make the two shelves that will be held with sliding dovetails. |
